2022 AACA Western Spring Nationals

The 2022 AACA Western Spring Nationals were hosted by the Las Vegas Region of the AACA and held at the beautiful Hilton Resort Lake Las Vegas on March 10-12, 2022. A big thank you to Show Chairperson Michael Fecchino, Chief Judge Marion McAlpine, Registration Chairperson Pat Buckley, and Finance/Budget Chairperson Dion Stams, and all the many club members who worked so hard in putting this event together and helping it run so smoothly.

Dion Stams put together a interesting tour to Hoover Dam which included a tour inside the dam. The drive took our group into the Lake Mead National Recreational Area for a memorable route to the Hoover Dam. Later that evening we were scheduled for a dinner cruise on a yacht in Lake Las Vegas. Unfortunately the yacht had engine trouble and at the last minute, Michael Fecchino put together a very nice dinner and entertainment at the Firelight Barn Dinner Theater in Henderson. The food was great and so was the entertainment. Everyone had a good time. The Ice Cream Social was held on Friday evening and it was fun visiting with fellow attendees.

The Show Field opened at 7am on Saturday morning and as you can see by the photos, there were a lot of beautiful automobiles to admire. There were two members of the Southern California Chapter of the AACA that were recognized with trophys. Russell Golesh won a prize for his beautiful 1937 Oldsmobile L37-3811 in the Driver Participation Class, and Duane Hinkle won First Junior for his 1929 Ford Model A Roadster in class 21A.
